Gilchrist Educational Trust

Education and Learning Grants for Organisations

Gilchrist Educational Trust gives small grants (typically £500-£4,000) to UK registered charities and CICs working in the UK or abroad with children and adults most at risk of missing out on education. It prioritises literacy, numeracy and STEM, learner safety and building long-term capacity within education systems, favouring projects with broad reach over one-off activities. Applications open 1 December 2026 and close 28 February 2027.

Who can apply

  • UK registered charities and CICs working in the UK or internationally, whose projects reach the most vulnerable, let local voices guide decisions, contribute to lasting change, learn from their own and others' experience, and work within the government system
  • Schools, Scouts/Guides groups, politically involved organisations, organisations using institutional care or child sponsorship, and those funded in the previous year cannot apply
