Small grants, typically up to £500, for parish and town councils, community groups, charities, schools and not-for-profits to carry out practical projects that improve wildlife and habitats in Lincolnshire, such as ponds, hedgerows, wildflower areas or controlling invasive species. Biodiversity impact is the most important scoring criterion, followed by local involvement and access to nature. The grant is a contribution, and projects bringing volunteer time, match funding or ongoing maintenance are welcomed. Closing dates are 1 April and 1 September each year.

Love Lewisham Micro Grants

Small grants from Lewisham Council for practical projects that tackle fly-tipping, clean up neglected places, green neighbourhoods or bring people together to improve their area. Three routes: Resident Grants up to £200 for individual residents aged 18+, Community Grants up to £500 and Enhanced Community Grants of £500-£1,000 for constituted groups and local organisations. Residents with bigger ideas can lead them with a Community Organisation Partner that receives the money. Applications close at 5pm on 27 November 2026; projects run February to May 2027.

Warm Homes Local Grant

Free home energy upgrades for low-income Darlington households in privately owned or privately rented homes with an EPC rating of D to G, funded through the government's Warm Homes: Local Grant via the Tees Valley Warm Homes partnership and running until March 2028. Eligible homes can receive up to an average of £16,600 for energy-saving measures plus up to an average of £16,600 for low-carbon heating, installed by the Council's contractor, E.ON. It does not fund gas boilers. Landlords get 100% funding for their first property and 50% for others.

Full ADOPT Grant: Round 10

Defra's ADOPT grant, part of the Farming Innovation Programme run with Innovate UK, funds farmer-led on-farm trials and demonstrations of new or little-used ideas that could improve productivity, resilience or sustainability and net zero. Projects cost £50,000 to £200,000 in total and must be led by an active farming, growing or forestry business in England working with at least one other UK farming business, with an approved ADOPT Project Facilitator in the team. English, Welsh and Scottish farmers can get up to 80% of their project costs. Closes 11am on 2 December 2026; the total pot is £5 million.

Innovate UK (UKRI)
Climate Tech FOAK Builder: Programme Entry Expression of Interest

Phase 1 of Innovate UK's Climate Tech FOAK Builder pilot, for UK SMEs approaching the first commercial-scale deployment of a climate technology project (TRL 7 or above). This phase gives no cash: successful companies get a dedicated mentor, a FOAK Development Plan and in-kind expert advisory and technical assistance worth up to £315,000, delivered by a Technical Assistance Supplier, to move the project towards Final Investment Decision. Only companies with an agreed Development and Support Plan can be invited to apply for Phase 2 development-cost grants (£4 million in total), which are not guaranteed. Projects must be in sustainable fuels, grid technologies, engineered carbon removals or low carbon materials, and Innovate UK expects about a 10% chance of success; it closes at 11am on 5 November 2026.

Ofgem Strategic Innovation Fund Round 5 Discovery C7

Discovery Phase funding from Ofgem's Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF), run by Innovate UK, for collaborative energy network innovation projects that address one of the seven Round 5 Innovation Challenges: advanced energy transmission and networks, dynamic modelling, high energy demand point integration, consumer centric grid expansion, enhanced system visibility and control, green gas, and whole system optimisation. Only an Ofgem licensed gas or electricity network or the National Energy System Operator can lead and receive the award. Each challenge theme also needs a specific type of partner, such as a research institution, technology provider or consumer representative organisation. Projects can request up to £200,000 (excluding VAT), must put in at least 10% from private funds and run for five months, and successful projects can apply for the Alpha Phase.

Discovery Phase funding from Ofgem's Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF), run by Innovate UK, for collaborative energy network innovation projects that address the five new SIF Innovation Challenges for 2026 to 2033: industrial and business connection acceleration, faster build and maintenance, instant use domestic energy devices, eliminating energy outages, and decentralised system balancing. Only an Ofgem licensed gas or electricity network or the National Energy System Operator can lead and receive the award. Other organisations, such as start-ups, SMEs, suppliers and academics, take part as Project Partners. Projects can request up to £200,000 (excluding VAT), must put in at least 10% from private funds and run for five months, and successful projects can apply for the later Alpha, Beta and Deployment phases.

Great British Energy
Great British Energy (GBE) Supply Chain Fund: Offshore Wind and Networks

Capital grants from Great British Energy for companies building new, or extending existing, UK factories that will primarily make one of 29 listed 'Critical Components' for offshore wind and the electricity networks (for example blades, towers, monopiles, HVDC cables, power transformers and switchgear). There is no set minimum or maximum grant: the request must be the minimum needed for the project to go ahead, and GBE expects an average grant intensity of about 15% of eligible costs, so most of the investment must come from the applicant. Applications go through Eligibility, Readiness Review and Full Application stages; Round 4, the final round, closes at 5pm on 10 December 2026, or earlier if the £300 million fund is fully allocated.

Small capital grants from Ford's UK charitable trust, running since 1975, for registered charities, state schools and PTAs, and non-profit clubs and societies anywhere in the UK. Grants help buy equipment, furniture and computers, contribute to refurbishments, or go towards a new vehicle. Small grants are up to £250 and large grants £251 to £3,000. Projects near Ford sites (Essex including East London, Bridgend, Southampton, Daventry, Manchester, Liverpool) are weighted more highly. Applications are by emailed form in fixed windows; the small grant window is open until 31 October 2026, while large grant applications are paused until a new form is published in October.

The Daisie Rich Trust
The Daisie Rich Trust grants

Grants from the Daisie Rich Trust, an Isle of Wight charity founded under Miss Daisie Rich's 1955 will, for charities, community groups and organisations with charitable goals whose work benefits the Isle of Wight and its residents. It funds five areas: youth; health; welfare; services to the community; and arts, culture and environment, and can pay for specific projects or general running costs. Typical grants are £500 to £5,000, and many partners receive funding over several years. Trustees meet four times a year, usually in March, June, September and December.

Annual or continuing small grants from a family trust founded in 1961 by Lord (John) Diamond, for smaller charities working in education, the environment and overseas ("Third World") development. Past grants range from special educational needs provision for UK children to water projects abroad. Applications are accepted at any time but considered only once a year, in November, and charities must show annual income of at least £50,000.

Grants to individuals, organisations and institutions for horticultural projects of public benefit, mostly in the UK: creating, developing and restoring gardens, plant study trips and expeditions, publications, exhibitions, and horticultural research and conservation. Grants range from a few hundred pounds to £5,000 and are typically £3,000-£4,000. There are two deadlines a year, 15 February and 15 August; because the August 2026 round was oversubscribed, applications for the 15 February 2027 round are not accepted until after 1 January 2027, and the Trust may refine its criteria during December.

Grants to smaller registered charities, mainly in Hampshire, for causes Lady Charlotte Bonham-Carter cared about: the arts, projects of cultural interest, preservation of the countryside, young carers, older people, and early intervention for disadvantaged children and young people. The average grant is under £5,000. Applications are by post with a covering sheet, twice a year, with closing dates of 1 January and 1 September, and only successful applicants hear back.

Grants for ecological research, maintenance and data curation at long-term ecological experiments (LTEs) in the UK that are on the Ecological Continuity Trust's register. Small Grants and Student Grants give up to £3,000 and Maintenance Grants up to £5,000 for fencing, infrastructure and equipment repairs. Applications are by emailed form with no deadline, and the Trust aims to give a decision within two months. Co-funded by the Ramble Worldwide Outdoor Trust.

A small family foundation, run by its trustees with no paid staff, funding three areas: young people's employability in London and North Yorkshire, international development overseas, and environment and conservation in the UK and overseas. It gives small grants of up to £5,000 a year and a limited number of larger grants, usually up to £20,000 a year, and will consider multi-year grants, core costs and match funding. Trustees meet in March, June, September and December; the deadline is the 15th of the month before, so the next is 15 November 2026.

Grants for projects, activities and events that benefit the communities of Barne Barton, Kings Tamerton, St Budeaux, Keyham and parts of Weston Mill in Plymouth, near the North Yard of Devonport Dockyard. There are several tiers. Community Grants of £500 or less can be awarded up to three times a year. Small Grants go up to £5,000, and General Grants are for more than £5,000 and can take up to six months. There are also Multi-Year Grants of up to three years and a Schools Grant. Charities, CICs, schools, sports clubs, constituted groups and businesses can apply. Applications are rolling, decided at bi-monthly trustee meetings; the next cut-off is 2 November 2026.

The Roughley Trust
Roughley Trust Grants to Organisations

Annual grants, normally £1,000 to £3,000, for local Birmingham registered charities with a turnover under £1 million, working inside the city boundary. Areas include community work, special needs, health and wellbeing, education, arts, heritage and environment. Applications open each year on 1 August and close on 1 October, for a trustees' meeting in late November. The 2026 round has closed: the next opens on 1 August 2027 and closes on 1 October 2027. You email a typed form, a signed letter and two or three photos.

Grants from a local trust, formerly the Wendover Community Trust, set up in 1977 by Lionel Abel-Smith, Lord of the Manor of Wendover. It helps individuals, families and organisations in Wendover Parish and the Moor Park estate. Organisations such as schools, village halls, sports clubs and special-interest groups can apply for equipment, building repairs and improvements, sports facilities and environmental sustainability projects. Individuals can apply for essential needs, training and courses, disability and mobility aids, and help pursuing a talent. There is no minimum or maximum grant, and applications are accepted at any time through a short online form.

Fisheries Society of the British Isles

Grants of up to £1,000 towards the cost of a training course in any aspect of fish biology and fisheries science, or training that helps an FSBI member's career or research. Online or in-person courses qualify; workshops only if they have a substantial training element. Open to members anywhere, with preference for early-career candidates; each person can win at most two. Closing dates are 20 January, 1 May and 1 October.

Fisheries Society of the British Isles
FSBI Travel Grant

Grants of up to £1,500 for FSBI members to travel to scientific conferences, mainly to present their work, including the FSBI annual symposium; visits to other institutions can be combined with a conference. It is aimed mainly at early-career fish biologists and fisheries scientists, but has no age limit and is open to members in any country. Applications close quarterly, on 1 March, 1 June, 1 September and 1 December.

The Gerald Micklem Charitable Trust
The Gerald Micklem Charitable Trust grants

A general charitable trust that gives grants to UK registered charities working in Hampshire or West Sussex in a set list of fields: physical and learning disabilities, carers (especially young carers), environment and wildlife, hospices, medical conditions, and support for older people including dementia. The Trustees decide most of the year's grants at one meeting early in the year, so applications for 2027 must arrive by 30 November 2026. There is no application form: apply by letter with your latest report and accounts. There is no typical grant size, though the Trust says most grants are between £8,000 and £15,000.

The SMB Trust
SMB Trust grants

The SMB Trust, founded in 1962 by Sybil May Betts, gives grants of £1,000 to £3,000 (up to £5,000 with justification) to UK registered charities. A charity must meet at least one of six criteria: supporting the Christian faith, social care in the UK or abroad, famine or emergency aid, environment and wildlife, education or medical research, or poverty relief. Applications are made by a single online form, considered quarterly. Charities must spend no more than 20% of their outgoings on fundraising.

The Racing Foundation
Racing Foundation Small and Open Grants

The Racing Foundation funds charitable projects that directly benefit the UK horseracing and Thoroughbred breeding industry: its people (welfare, health, poverty relief, education and training, diversity), equine welfare, and environmental, social and governance work. Small Grants go up to £30,000 and Open Grants from £30,000 upwards. Applications go through a three-stage process (online expression of interest, a fuller second-stage form, then a trustee decision) in three rounds a year. Applications that miss a deadline are carried forward to the next round.

Applications are taken at any time, but you must first discuss your idea with the Fisheries Team, who send an application form if the project looks eligible. No grant amounts are published.

The Morley Agricultural Foundation (TMAF), a Norfolk charitable trust, funds agricultural research and education, mainly for the benefit of farming in East Anglia and the Eastern Counties. It funds arable research, PhD projects with partners, professional development for people in farming, and initiatives that teach audiences from schoolchildren to adults about farming, such as agricultural shows' school food-and-farming days. Individuals and organisations apply by first writing to TMAF; if the idea fits, TMAF sends an application form. TMAF invests about £500,000 a year.

Cadogan's Community Grant, run for it by The Kensington + Chelsea Foundation, gives grants of either £5,000 or £10,000 for one year to not-for-profit organisations based in or delivering in Chelsea. It funds programmes that increase people's sense of community and belonging, environmental improvements, health and wellbeing activities, arts and culture and ongoing help for local groups. Now in its third year, it has two rounds a year (£30,000 in total over 12 months), and Round 1 opens for expressions of interest in late October 2026.

The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust Grants

Grants from a Sussex family trust for registered charities, mainly for work with young people, older people, disabled people, community welfare, homelessness and the environment in Sussex. It also funds UK and international wildlife conservation projects that directly address threats to endangered flora or fauna. Small grants of up to £10,000 can be requested at any time; medium grants of £10,001-£20,000 open in four windows a year. Large grants (over £20,000) are only for charities with a long relationship with the Trust.
