Sir Halley Stewart Trust

Grants for innovative research and pioneering development projects that aim to prevent (rather than alleviate) human suffering, in three themes: Social, Medical and Religious, with education running across all three. Main Grants of £5,001-£60,000 over one to three years (at most £30,000 a year), usually for salaries, where the Trust is the sole or major funder; Small Grants of up to £5,000 for scoping or pilot projects costing no more than £5,000. Grants go only to or through UK charitable organisations. The Trust funds about 1 in 10 applications, and a round closes early once it has enough.
Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust

Grants to improve access to appropriate mental health and wellbeing support for specific underrepresented groups within the armed forces community, through tailored interventions that respond to identified barriers, needs and experiences. Strand 1 offers £20,000 to £40,000 for a two-year discover, pilot and learn project (with up to £20,000 more in exceptional cases for an extra year); Strand 2 offers £150,000 to £300,000 for two to three years to scale an approach already tested. Most help now goes through front-line charities and organisations in the town; organisations need not be registered charities. Brissenden Trust

Manchester Relief in Need CIO

Help for Health is a Hull-based grant-making charity that funds work improving the health and wellbeing of people in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire (East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire). It gives grants to local charities and organisations for medical and hospital care, facilities and equipment not replacing statutory provision, support for sick and disabled people and their carers, and medical research and education. Recent awards range from about £5,000 to community projects up to £75,000 for university studentships.
J. N. Derbyshire Trust

Grants from a 1944 Nottingham family trust to charities and not-for-profit community and voluntary groups for charitable projects that support people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Projects can cover physical and mental health, disability, education, relief of poverty, distress and sickness, or the protection and welfare of children and vulnerable people. Most grants are £1,000 to £5,000, rising to £10,000 in exceptional circumstances; applications go through Forever Notts (Nottinghamshire Community Foundation) for two review meetings a year, and organisations need at least two years of filed accounts.
The Livewell Foundation

Grants of up to £10,000 from The Livewell Foundation, the charity set up by health and social care provider Livewell Southwest, for charities and community groups running projects that improve health and wellbeing, reduce mental and physical ill health or reduce social isolation in Plymouth, South Hams and West Devon. The large grants round opens once a year, and the current window closes on 30 November 2026. Projects addressing children's mental health, women's health or child obesity score extra points, and applications can be made in writing or by a video of up to five minutes.
The Daisie Rich Trust

Grants from the Daisie Rich Trust, an Isle of Wight charity founded under Miss Daisie Rich's 1955 will, for charities, community groups and organisations with charitable goals whose work benefits the Isle of Wight and its residents. It funds five areas: youth; health; welfare; services to the community; and arts, culture and environment, and can pay for specific projects or general running costs. Typical grants are £500 to £5,000, and many partners receive funding over several years. Trustees meet four times a year, usually in March, June, September and December.
The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation

Grants to individual teenagers and young adults aged 13-24 who have been treated for cancer in the last 12 months, to ease the money worries that come with treatment. Grants can help with travel, household expenses, clothing and hospital food costs, or buy specific items that make treatment easier or less isolating or help a young person continue studying. Requests should not normally exceed £500; larger requests go to the trustees in exceptional circumstances. Applications need details of the young person's healthcare professional.
The Swan Mountain Trust

Small, one-off grants from a small trust that works in mental health (not disability) and penal affairs. For the next three years it is focusing on organisations working with refugees and asylum seekers, with particular emphasis on the mental health of young refugees and asylum seekers. Grants are usually £2,000-£4,000, mainly to small organisations with income under £500,000, across the UK. Trustees meet in February, June and October and applications can be made at any time, starting with an email enquiry.
LGBT+ Fund (powered by Consortium), with The National Lottery Community Fund

18-month grants of £5,000 to £25,000 for England-based non-profit organisations and youth groups with at least two years' youth work and existing LGBT+ youth provision, to foster joy, belonging and positivity for LGBT+ young people aged 11-25 through projects, trips and enriching experiences. Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund's You Decide programme, with a panel of LGBT+ young people making the decisions. The fund has £300,000 in total and the funder expects about 1 in 5 applications to succeed. Video and supported (phone) applications are offered.
Parry Family Charitable Foundation

The Mrs Smith and Mount Trust

One-year grants of up to £10,000 for registered charities with income up to £500,000 whose beneficiaries are in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Surrey or London. Each round takes one category: the window that opened on 12 October 2026 for one week is only for charities supporting therapeutic interventions in mental health (December 2026 meeting); the March 2027 round is for charities supporting refugees and asylum seekers. Small, rural charities are encouraged.
The Mrs Smith and Mount Trust

Individuals and organisations apply through short online forms at any time, and the trustees aim to decide within eight weeks. The money comes from the charity's own challenges and events (over £570K raised since 2016).
Halcrow Foundation

Grants from a foundation set up by former staff of the engineering consultancy Halcrow, for grassroots projects that make a lasting difference to people in acute hardship in the UK and in selected countries in Africa (Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Madagascar, Mozambique) and Asia (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka). Projects must build local community infrastructure, such as school and health centre buildings or safe water and sanitation, or support livelihoods through household food, health and income security. Applicants must be UK-registered charities with income and spending under £3 million. The Foundation says it has spent nearly £3 million on more than 160 projects since 2004; it publishes no grant size.
The Kerrison Trust

The J G Graves Charitable Trust

Grants for charities, CICs and community groups whose work benefits the City of Sheffield, from the trust set up by John George Graves in 1930. Trustees prefer capital projects and special projects rather than topping up normal income, but also support 'seed corn' funding and running costs. A typical grant is £500 to £3,000, and the Trust rarely covers a project's whole cost unless it is modest. Applications are considered at quarterly trustees' meetings; the next closing date is 31 December 2026.
The Earley Charity

Grants for individuals in difficult circumstances, for example because of low income or poor health, who live in The Earley Charity's area of benefit in Earley and east and central Reading. Grants buy a specific item or service and are mostly under £500; larger grants are occasionally made for specialist medical or therapeutic equipment, or for essential building works for owner-occupiers whose disability requires them. Every application needs a professional sponsor. Upcoming deadlines are 16 October 2026 (both tracks) and 13 November 2026 (£500 and under).

The Kaye Charitable Trust

Charities, organisations and individuals (with professional counter-signature) can apply. Grants can cover equipment, therapy, care, treatment, education, training, access, accommodation and recreation. The maximum is unlikely to be more than £5,000, and most grants are much smaller. Trustees meet in January, April, July and October, and the deadline is the end of the month before; the next is 31 December 2026.
North Yard Community Trust CIO

Grants for projects, activities and events that benefit the communities of Barne Barton, Kings Tamerton, St Budeaux, Keyham and parts of Weston Mill in Plymouth, near the North Yard of Devonport Dockyard. There are several tiers. Community Grants of £500 or less can be awarded up to three times a year. Small Grants go up to £5,000, and General Grants are for more than £5,000 and can take up to six months. There are also Multi-Year Grants of up to three years and a Schools Grant. CSIS Charity Fund

The CSIS Charity Fund (registered charity 1121671), which is funded by the surpluses of the Civil Service Insurance Society, gives grants to organisations that help serving, former and retired civil and public servants in need, hardship or distress. Its main focus is annual grants to the main civil and public service charities, mostly existing partners. It will also consider other projects with a direct impact on that group, such as welfare or benevolent funds and retirement or bereavement support groups. The Roughley Trust

Annual grants, normally £1,000 to £3,000, for local Birmingham registered charities with a turnover under £1 million, working inside the city boundary. Areas include community work, special needs, health and wellbeing, education, arts, heritage and environment. Applications open each year on 1 August and close on 1 October, for a trustees' meeting in late November. The 2026 round has closed: the next opens on 1 August 2027 and closes on 1 October 2027.
