GrantRadar is run by Mission Pointers CIC, a community interest company registered in England and Wales (company number 17022015), whose registered office is at 80 Yorkshire Street, Rochdale, OL16 1JU. This page explains what we collect when you use GrantRadar, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We are the data controller for this information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What we collect
When you create an account and use GrantRadar, we hold:
- Your account: your name, email address and the name of your organisation.
- Your organisation’s profile: what you tell us so we can match grants — for example its description, how it is set up, whether it is a registered charity, its postcode, website, areas and causes, income band and the size of grant you usually apply for.
- How you use the grants: the grants you save, hide or mark as applied, any notes you add, and the grants you open, so we can show your lists and improve matching.
- Sign-in records: the one-time codes we email you, which expire after 30 minutes, and a sign-in token that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
- Security records: the IP address and email used to request a sign-in code, kept briefly so we can stop anyone flooding the sign-in form.
- The closing-soon list: if you sign up for it without an account, your email address, and when you confirmed it or unsubscribed.
- How GrantRadar is used: for people who are signed in, what they do in the app — for example saving a grant or adding an application — recorded against an account number, never a name or email address.
You can browse grants without an account; we count page visits, without cookies and without recording who you are. We do not use advertising trackers.
Why we use it
- To provide GrantRadar to you — signing you in, matching grants to your organisation, and keeping your saved lists. We rely on this being necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
- To keep it secure and working well — limiting sign-in attempts and understanding which grants people find useful, so we can improve the matches. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, useful service.
- To contact you about your account — for example to send a sign-in code or tell you about an important change to GrantRadar or to this policy.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of service providers, who handle data only on our instructions:
- hosting providers, which run the website and store its data;
- an email provider, which delivers sign-in codes, account emails and the closing-soon list;
- an analytics provider, which helps us understand how GrantRadar is used;
- an AI service, which compares the description of your organisation with grant descriptions to find matches. It receives your organisation’s name and description, and nothing else about you.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where your information is transferred abroad, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law.
We would also share information if the law required us to, or to protect GrantRadar and its users from fraud or abuse.
Cookies and storage on your device
GrantRadar does not set cookies. When you sign in, your browser stores a sign-in token so you stay signed in, and a copy of some of your lists so pages load quickly. Signing out removes them.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and profile for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, profile, saved lists and notes, normally within 30 days. Sign-in codes expire after 30 minutes and sign-in tokens after 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it — most of it you can also change yourself in your profile;
- ask us to delete it, including your whole account;
- object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it;
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere.
To do any of these, email info@grantradar.co.uk from the address on your account. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
