Moto Foundation (Moto Hospitality Ltd)
Moto Foundation Community Grants
Community grants from the Moto Foundation, the charity of motorway service operator Moto, for charities, schools, not-for-profits and CICs near one of Moto's motorway service areas in England, Scotland and Wales. Every application must be endorsed by a Moto employee, whom the Foundation will contact. The average grant is £1,000; larger grants may be agreed for strong applications with clear commitment from the Moto site and the partner.

- Every application must be endorsed by a Moto colleague: anyone directly employed by Moto Hospitality Ltd, who agrees the link between themselves and your organisation and will be contacted by the Foundation
- You need their permission to name them
- They do not have to be a volunteer or fundraiser for your organisation
- The form asks for a registered charity number, or whether you are a CIC or not-for-profit organisation
What it funds
- Community grants for charities, schools, not-for-profits and CICs near Moto sites
- The form asks how the money will be used and over what time frame, with a breakdown of costs and any quotes
- The average grant is £1,000; larger grants may be agreed depending on the strength of the application and the commitment shown by both the Moto site and the partner
What it will not fund
- Applications for the promotion of religion or politics
- Overseas projects
- Applications without the endorsement of a Moto colleague (someone directly employed by Moto Hospitality Ltd)
How to apply
- Check your organisation is within the required radius of a Moto site, and find a Moto colleague willing to endorse your application
- Read the criteria and the Guidance Notes (PDF)
- Complete the online Community Grant Application Form: organisation details, nearest Moto site, endorsing colleague's name and contact details, organisation background, how the funds will be used (at least 100 words), amount requested, and supporting files
- The Moto Foundation office emails to acknowledge the application and says whether it will go forward to the Trustees' approval process
- The Foundation contacts your Moto colleague to confirm the endorsement; the whole application-to-approval process can take up to 8 weeks, and you will hear whether or not you are successful
