Gay & Peter Hartley's Hillards Charitable Trust
Gay & Peter Hartley's Hillards Charitable Trust grants
A Leeds-based family trust that makes one-off grants, normally up to £1,000, to independent, locally managed voluntary and community organisations providing social support in the 45 towns once served by Hillards supermarkets across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, the East Midlands, Northamptonshire, Peterborough and Brownhills. Each year it also makes two £10,000 grants where that sum can make a significant impact on an organisation. Eligibility is tight: each town has a set radius (1 to 10 miles from the town centre) and organisations getting more than a third of their income from statutory sources cannot apply.

- Children's charities enhancing sports and social opportunities
- Church-based projects with a proven outreach factor
