Who can apply

  • Charities, community groups and voluntary organisations working in Ealing and Brentford, whose project benefits residents of Ealing and Brentford only (not the rest of Hounslow)
  • The online form accepts these legal forms: charity, CIO, CIC, provident society and company limited by guarantee
  • Commercial organisations, individuals and statutory services cannot apply
  • Also excluded: organisations with more than six months' free reserves and those already receiving Pathways funding
  • The assessment says you must not have been funded by Pathways in the past 3 years
  • No income limit is set for the Main Grants Programme
  • Applicants must show safeguarding arrangements where relevant, an equal opportunities framework, user involvement, and monitoring and evaluation systems

What it funds

Projects benefiting residents of Ealing and Brentford that:

  • Strengthen the local voluntary and community sector
  • Alleviate poverty by tackling root causes
  • Promote healthy living and nutrition, including bringing disadvantaged people together to cook and eat
  • Provide for people on low incomes
  • Overcome isolation
  • Tackle homelessness or help non-statutory groups threatened with homelessness
  • Support survivors of domestic violence
  • Help disadvantaged people access services
  • Improve the emotional and physical health of disadvantaged people and carers
  • Provide counselling and support
  • Improve employment and educational opportunities

The list is not exhaustive.

Start-up or core costs directly related to the project may be funded.

Some capital costs directly tied to the project (e.g. essential equipment and computers for project workers) can be part of a larger grant.

Pilot projects and action research are welcome, and so are partnerships with statutory bodies if a voluntary organisation leads.

What it will not fund

  • Work that does not benefit residents of Ealing and/or Brentford
  • Applications from individuals
  • Services run by statutory or public authorities, or which the Trustees consider they should run
  • Work that is a statutory duty
  • Commercial organisations
  • Retrospective funding
  • Travel and transport costs
  • Promotion of political or religious beliefs
  • Projects outside the funding priorities
  • Rapid response to emergency situations
  • Debts or loans
  • Capital costs related to premises or buildings, including building refurbishment or purchase
  • Organisations with more than 6 months' free reserves
  • Organisations currently receiving grant funding from Pathways
