Scurrah Wainwright Charity
Scurrah Wainwright Charity Grants
A Wainwright family charity giving grants, typically £1,000-£5,000, for innovative, hard-to-fund work tackling the root causes of poverty and social inequity, for projects that directly benefit people in Yorkshire. It is for smaller organisations (income or spending up to about £250,000) and will contribute to core costs. Trustees meet three times a year; the next Stage 1 registration deadline is 14 January 2027 (March meeting). The Southern Africa programme is not accepting applications.

- The organisation need not be based in Yorkshire, but the project must directly benefit the Yorkshire community; national organisations are funded only for projects specifically in Yorkshire with clear local control and access to the grant
- You need a UK bank account
- Previous grantees cannot reapply until trustees have received their report on the earlier grant
