The Mother Humber Memorial Fund
The Mother Humber Memorial Fund
A Hull charity giving one-off help to people in need, hardship or distress who live in the City of Kingston upon Hull, usually by supplying basic white goods, essential furniture, clothing and bedding. It helps individuals (not community groups): appeals are normally made through an agency such as social services or Citizens Advice on the person's behalf, and awards are usually under £500. It does not pay debts or give cash, and trustees meet monthly.

Who can apply
- Individuals and households in need, hardship or distress who live within the City of Kingston upon Hull
- The trustees normally only consider an approach via a recognised agency (e.g. social services, Citizens Advice, a health visitor) that confirms advice has been sought and comments on the application; individuals applying without an agency must explain why
- The grant benefits the individual; organisations only apply on the applicant's behalf
