The Red Hill Trust
The Red Hill Trust grants
Grants from The Red Hill Trust (registered charity 307891) to organisations in South East England supporting the education of children and young people under 25 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, often those with an EHCP identifying SEMH, plus early intervention for young children with identified SEMH needs in primary schools and early years settings. The Trustees consider requests of £500 to £12,000 but prefer £1,000 to £5,000 (the criteria page says grants typically range from £2,000 to £7,000), normally for one-year projects. Trustees meet in March and October; the next deadline is 1 February 2027.

Who can apply
- Organisations only (not individuals) whose projects benefit children and young people under 25 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, often identified in SEND Education, Health and Care Plans; schools, special schools, nurture provision, early years settings and charities have been funded
- Projects must be located in the South East as the Trust defines it - Kent, East and West Sussex, Surrey and South East London postcodes - so that Trustees can visit
- Applicants agree to Trustee visits and must report on progress, impact and spending at the end of the grant
What it funds
- Educational or training purposes for children and young people with SEMH difficulties, or access to such opportunities - including therapies, wellbeing programmes and nurturing environments including equipment
- Trustees favour equipment, infrastructure or activities over salary subsidies, and give particular attention to early intervention and inclusion initiatives for young children with identified SEMH needs in primary schools and early years settings
- The Trust has focused on children under 18, though up to 25 is eligible
- Grants are normally for one year (up to three years may be considered in particular circumstances, subject to annual reports)
- Recent grants include nurture group equipment, art therapy, music therapy, mentoring, residentials, play therapy and farming/gardening projects at special schools
What it will not fund

- Projects outside Kent, East and West Sussex, Surrey and South East London postcodes
- Support that is already the responsibility of statutory services
- Salary subsidies (not favoured; equipment, infrastructure or activities preferred)
- Children and young people aged 25 or over
- High-functioning autism (ASD/ASC) alone is not the Trust's key target group
- Costings rounded to the nearest thousand pounds are not acceptable
