Who can apply

  • Registered charities in England and Wales only
  • The foundation will generally prioritise charities whose projects operate near one of the firm's English offices: Bristol, Leeds, London, Newcastle, Plymouth, Southampton and Teesside
  • Edinburgh is excluded
  • The person applying must state their connection to the charity and confirm they are authorised to apply on its behalf
  • The Grant Funding Committee's due diligence checks registered charity status, any regulatory issues, the level of reserves held and compliance with filing requirements
  • The charity must wait at least 12 months after any previous application before applying again

What it funds

One-off project grants for registered charities making a positive impact under one or more of the current themes.

  • The themes are climate action and environmental protection
  • LGBTQ+ inclusion
  • Supporting inclusion of individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds
  • Increasing women's opportunities in life and work
  • Disability and neurodiversity inclusion
  • Mental health and wellbeing support

The wider aims are social inclusion and making a positive difference for people from disadvantaged and diverse backgrounds, particularly in the communities where the firm's people live and work.

Running costs are funded only when they relate directly to the project.

What it will not fund

  • Projects run by charities whose primary focus is religious, political, campaigning or controversial (or perceived by the Trustees to be so)
  • Multi-year grants (one-off grants only)
  • Running costs not directly associated with the project
  • Organisations that are not registered charities in England or Wales
  • Charities that applied within the previous 12 months, whether successful or not

How to apply

  1. Read the grant funding guidelines and FAQs (PDF linked from the foundation page)
  2. Complete the online application form on the foundation page (sections: before you start, about you, about the charity, about your project) before 5pm on Monday 11 January 2027
  3. Wait for an email with the outcome; the Grant Funding Committee reviews applications and the Trustees decide
  4. If successful, take part in regular check-in calls and an end-of-project review call or meeting

The page refreshes after each section of the form; scroll back down to continue. A separate version of the form is linked for anyone having trouble with it.

Demand exceeds available funding, so eligible applications may still be declined; no feedback is given.
