The City of Edinburgh Council

Scottish Welfare Fund: Community Care Grant and Crisis Grant

Two grants for Edinburgh residents aged 16 or over on a low income or benefits, neither of which has to be paid back. A Crisis Grant helps in an emergency, with a decision by the next working day and payment by PayPoint code or bank transfer; a Community Care Grant helps people to live independently or stay in the community, usually given as goods such as furniture, white goods, bedding or removal costs. Applications are made online or by phone and judged on individual circumstances.
