Elmbridge Borough Council

Empty homes grants, loans and cash incentive scheme

Help for owners of empty homes in Elmbridge, partly as loans rather than grants. Discretionary grants and loans can cover the reasonable cost of works needed to bring a property back into use. Separately, a cash incentive of up to £4,000 (excluding one-bed properties) is paid to owners and landlords who let the property on a 12-month assured shorthold tenancy at local housing allowance rates with the council nominating the tenant, plus £1,000 more if the tenancy is kept for a further 12 months.
