Teignbridge District Council

Councillors' Community Fund

Each Teignbridge district councillor has £1,000 in 2026/27 to give to not-for-profit community groups and organisations for one-off projects in their ward that make a positive difference for the community. Requests should be at least £150, and councillors can combine their allocations for projects costing more than £1,000. You apply to a specific councillor; the page lists how much each one has left.

Who can apply

  • Not-for-profit community groups and organisations (not individuals) with a one-off project within a Teignbridge district councillor's ward
  • The reason for funding must be in line with the Council Strategy 2025-2030
  • Groups whose activities involve children, young people or vulnerable adults must have safeguarding and equalities policies
  • Each grant request should be at least £150 unless the councillor has less than £150 left; councillors consider projects throughout the year while funds last
  • The Democratic Services Manager can refuse or approve any application
  • No grants are processed during Teignbridge elections, and the fund closes a few weeks before a Notice of Election is published

What it funds

One-off projects in a councillor's ward that make a positive difference for the community, show value for money and have a measurable impact, involving and engaging with residents and voluntary and community groups

What it will not fund

  • Payments to individuals
  • Replacing withdrawn public funding
  • Ongoing support
  • Parish and Town Councils using the fund as an additional means of funding to their precept
  • Devon County Council funded organisations such as schools using the fund as an additional means of funding

How to apply

  1. Check the table on the page to see which ward councillors still have funds available
  2. Complete the online Councillors' Community Fund application form
  3. The councillor you applied to decides whether to recommend your application
  4. The council checks it meets the criteria; if so, the grant is usually paid into your group's bank account within 4 weeks by BACS
