Crawley Borough Council
Small Grants
Crawley Borough Council grants of £50 to £2,500 for local community groups and voluntary organisations whose activity serves Crawley residents. Applications are online at any time while funding lasts, and the council asks you to discuss your idea first and ideally have a Crawley borough councillor's support.

What it funds
One-off grants for a specific project activity, an event, or items of equipment needed for a project, in support of local not-for-profit community and voluntary action. Start-up grants of up to £2,500 are available where the activity is linked with the council or a charity providing community development support and guidance. The aim is to foster community connectivity and cohesion, for example promoting a strong civic community and pride of place, or creative and proactive work that brings people together. The council's funding policy lists eligible costs as:
- Administration (printing, publicity, stationery, communications)
- Equipment and capital items
- Premises (rent or hire, insurance, heating and lighting)
- Set-up costs, including term-limited projects, development work and events
- Staff costs, volunteer expenses and training
- Organisational development, evaluation, research and consultation
Proposals must link to the council's priorities.
These are homelessness; dementia; employment; domestic abuse; narrowing inequalities; adverse childhood experiences and educational attainment; and community spirit, events and connecting residents.
The council 'typically' awards a contribution towards costs, not the full amount.
