Reaps Moss Community Benefit Fund
Community benefit fund for the three-turbine Reaps Moss Wind Farm on the moors between Bacup and Todmorden, paid by Equitix Ltd and run by GrantScape. Grants of £250 to £3,500 go to community projects in a mapped area around Bacup (Rossendale) and Todmorden (Calderdale). Capital and revenue costs are both eligible, and bids over £2,500 are favoured if the group contributes cash or in-kind support. There is one round a year; the next closes on 17 February 2027. The fund has about £10,000 a year, index-linked.

What it funds
Any community project which is for the benefit of residents of the local area, capital (e.g. materials, equipment) or revenue (e.g. staff and running costs), for example:
- Projects to improve public amenities e.g. community halls, sports facilities
- Footpath works
- Environmental and wildlife projects including projects to improve public parks and open spaces
- Activities / events to engage the local community
- Energy efficiency or renewable energy projects, such as insulation, efficient boilers or small scale renewable energy installations
the list is not exhaustive. For applications over £2,500, priority goes to groups contributing to the project (cash, a secured or pending grant, or in-kind labour or materials).
What it will not fund
- Commercial organisations
- Private membership-based sports clubs and facilities, unless membership is open to the general public without undue restriction (e.g. not membership by nomination organisations or with restrictive charges)
- Projects that only benefit one individual
- Projects that are narrowly religious in focus or that support a party political campaign
- Retrospective funding (works or spending must begin after the funding decision and a formal grant contract is issued)
- Works considered a statutory responsibility, such as scheduled transport services, works to public highways and public car parks
