The Vintners' Foundation
Vintners' Foundation Charitable Grants
One-off grants, normally up to £5,000, from the charitable foundation of the Vintners' Company, for charities and social enterprises working in Greater London, preferably inner London. It focuses on relieving poverty and homelessness, the social effects of alcohol abuse or misuse, and young people. Applications are taken at any time and reviewed by a committee that meets four times a year; smaller charities and specific projects are preferred.

Who can apply

- The application must come from the organisation delivering the project, not a third party
- Organisations normally need to have been established at least two years, have income under £10m and reserves of no more than 12 months' expenditure, and not have had a grant from the Foundation in the past three years
- Members of the Vintners' Company can separately propose charities through a Member's Petition
What it funds
- Relieving poverty and homelessness, particularly where health, education, or financial hardship are contributing factors
- Addressing the social effects of alcohol abuse or misuse
- Supporting young people through youth projects and designated educational establishments
preference is given to smaller charities, where the funding can have a bigger impact, and to a specific project rather than core or general costs.
What it will not fund
- Volunteer expenses
- Marketing materials, literature, or leaflets
- Educational grants for individuals
- Organisations funded by the Foundation within the past three years (unless invited to reapply)

How to apply
- Read the Eligibility Criteria and FAQs on the Charity page

- You receive an acknowledgement email; the Charities Secretary assesses the application and may ask for more detail
- Eligible applications go to the Vintners' Foundation Committee (meets four times a year, typically March, June, September and November), which may ask for more information or a visit
there are no deadlines, but time-critical projects are not recommended as an application may wait several weeks or months for a meeting. No individual feedback is given.
