The Kaye Charitable Trust

The Kaye Charitable Trust Grants

Grants for young adults aged 19 to 35 in England and Wales living with mental, physical or learning disabilities, and by extension their families and carers. Charities, organisations and individuals (with professional counter-signature) can apply. Grants can cover equipment, therapy, care, treatment, education, training, access, accommodation and recreation. The maximum is unlikely to be more than £5,000, and most grants are much smaller. Trustees meet in January, April, July and October, and the deadline is the end of the month before; the next is 31 December 2026.

Who can apply

  • Charities, other organisations and individuals seeking funding for activity in England and Wales that benefits young adults aged 19 to 35 living with mental, physical or learning disabilities, and their families and carers
  • Organisations need not be registered charities, but the activity must be charitable in law and for public benefit
  • The organisation form asks what share of the grant will reach the 19-35 age group if it is not wholly for them
  • Applications from or for an individual must be signed or counter-signed by their GP, a registered general or mental nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, tutor/mentor or key worker
  • Organisations must wait 12 months after an application, and 24 months after receiving a grant, before applying again
  • For larger projects the Trust needs a detailed budget and evidence of enough regular income and appropriate reserves, and may pledge part-funding to be released only when all funding is in place
