  • A shared evidence base and industry-informed strategic roadmap for manufacturing scale-up research and innovation by the end of year one
  • A connected and inclusive manufacturing scale-up community across academia, industry, investors, Catapults, innovation centres, policymakers and government, including a national conference, showcase or equivalent event within the first 12 months
  • Strong links between existing UKRI investments and new Advanced Manufacturing Programme investments, such as the Manufacturing Scale-up Research and Innovation: Automotive and Aerospace projects
  • A flexible funding programme supporting feasibility studies and other early-stage activities up to TRL 4 that address manufacturing scale-up challenges
  • Stronger pathways from research and innovation to industrial deployment
  • Strategic intelligence, capability development and advice for UKRI and stakeholders
  • Costs UKRI will fund: community building and networking activities, appropriate administrative and management support, flexible funds (up to 50% of total eligible project costs) for demonstrators, feasibility studies, translational research, proof of concept, market validation and activities targeting policy, business and the third sector, and equipment to facilitate communication, networking and events

What it will not fund
