Teachers Group Educational Trust
Teachers Group Educational Trust Grants
Grants to promote education in the UK and overseas, focused on young people aged 4 to 19, particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds. Most of the Trust's giving goes to three long-term strategic partners (The Steve Sinnott Foundation, SHINE and STEMunity), but trustees also make a number of smaller grants to other projects, including some that do not fully match the main criteria. Projects should be replicable across the wider education arena. Approaches are made by email; no amounts or deadlines are published.

Who can apply
- Organisations running education projects in the UK or overseas for young people aged 4-19, particularly disadvantaged young people
- Grantees must report regularly, show that projects are well managed with sufficient finances, have controls to ensure no individual benefits financially if a project becomes commercial, and demonstrate adherence to the Nolan Principles
- Grants for an individual's own education and projects benefiting a single school are not made
- Most funding is committed to three strategic partner charities, so other grants are smaller
What it funds
- Projects that improve educational attainment, inspire youngsters aged 4 to 19 to develop new skills and have a positive impact on their lives, particularly those from a disadvantaged background
- New ideas that can be translated into projects capable of being replicated elsewhere across the wider education arena
- Research projects that can be translated into practical projects within a reasonable timeframe
projects must have a good chance of success and provide value for money. Trustees will also consider smaller grants to projects which may not fully match the criteria.
What it will not fund
- Individuals for their own education
- Projects solely for the benefit of a single educational establishment
- Projects that should be part of statutory funding, or replacing lost or withdrawn statutory funding
- Projects restricted to or built around particular religious or political beliefs
- Projects that cannot demonstrate equality of opportunity in education
