Maidstone Borough Council

Energy efficiency top-up grant (Maidstone)

Up to £5,000 from Maidstone Borough Council towards energy improvements for homeowners on means-tested benefits (or at risk from a cold home) whose home is rated EPC E, F or G; it works like a loan secured on the home, because it must be repaid if the home is sold or transferred and a local land charge is registered. It can pay for boiler upgrades, insulation, solar panels or heat pumps, and can be combined with other local or national grants. The page also mentions a Winter Warmth Project, funded by one of the council's partner contractors, that may give up to £5,000 that does not have to be paid back.
