London Borough of Lewisham
Love Lewisham Micro Grants
Small grants from Lewisham Council for practical projects that tackle fly-tipping, clean up neglected places, green neighbourhoods or bring people together to improve their area. Three routes: Resident Grants up to £200 for individual residents aged 18+, Community Grants up to £500 and Enhanced Community Grants of £500-£1,000 for constituted groups and local organisations. Residents with bigger ideas can lead them with a Community Organisation Partner that receives the money. Applications close at 5pm on 27 November 2026; projects run February to May 2027.

Who can apply
- Lewisham residents aged 18 or over can apply directly for a Resident Grant of up to £200
- Constituted community groups and local organisations (residents' associations, faith groups, charities, CICs, companies and similar, with a bank account in the organisation's name) can apply for a Community Grant up to £500 or an Enhanced Community Grant of £500-£1,000 for their own projects
- A resident whose idea needs more than £200 can still lead it, but must apply with a constituted Community Organisation Partner that signs a declaration and receives and manages the money; the Council can help find one
- Projects must be in Lewisham and benefit the wider community
- If the grant covers only part of the cost, the rest must already be confirmed
What it funds
- Cleaner neighbourhoods: community clean-up events, reusable litter-picking equipment or volunteer clean-up kits, storage for shared community equipment, and activities that encourage people to care for local spaces
- Greener neighbourhoods: planters and planting schemes, pollinator-friendly or biodiversity projects, community gardening, and improvements to neglected green areas
- Neighbourhood pride and community action: small local improvements, community-led improvements and activity days, local awareness activity linked to a neighbourhood issue, and projects that bring people together around a shared local concern
- Creative approaches: community artwork or murals, creative neighbourhood-improvement projects, and local campaigns linked to improving an area
Community groups and organisations may include reasonable delivery costs if needed and explained in the budget. Projects from anywhere in Lewisham can be considered; published hotspot maps are not an eligibility test.
What it will not fund
- Projects or purchases that only benefit one person
- Individual residents paying themselves for their own time or an administration fee
- Unreasonable or unsupported administration, staffing or delivery costs
- Work that is the responsibility of the Council or another statutory service
- Routine maintenance that a landowner or service provider should already carry out
- Costs already incurred or activity that has already taken place
- General fundraising without a specific project
- Projects outside Lewisham
- Projects with no clear local or community benefit
- Projects that cannot obtain the permissions or approvals they need
- Activities that are unlawful, unsafe or inconsistent with the aims of the fund
How to apply
- Read the applicant guidance and, if useful, the Ideas and Typical Costs Catalogue
- If the project involves public or shared space, planters, highways, murals or physical changes, several locations, a public event or land you do not own, email community.funding@lewisham.gov.uk first with the idea, location and support needed
- For requests above £200 from a resident, confirm a Community Organisation Partner, who completes the Community Organisation Partner Declaration Form
- Complete the online application form (you can save and return), with the location, a short project description, an itemised budget and cost evidence, by 5pm on Friday 27 November 2026
- Applications are checked and assessed in late November and December 2026; outcomes and award documents follow from December 2026 to January 2027
- If successful, meet any conditions (permissions, conflict of interest declaration, maintenance agreement for physical improvements, payment forms); payment is made January to February 2027
- Deliver the project between February and 31 May 2027 and complete final monitoring within a month of finishing or by 30 June 2027, whichever is earlier
Late applications are not accepted, and submitting early gives no priority. The fund is likely to be oversubscribed.
Have ready
- Itemised budget
- Cost evidence such as quotations, supplier estimates, catalogue prices or screenshots
- Signed Community Organisation Partner declaration (resident-led projects above £200)
- Organisation details confirming status, e.g. charity, CIC or Companies House number (group applications)
Photographs and residents' views strengthen an application. Before payment, residents provide a payee details form, a short letter of introduction and proof of bank account; organisations may be asked for policy documents. Some projects may need a risk assessment, insurance evidence, a community consultation form or a volunteer maintenance agreement.
