The King Henry VIII Endowed Trust, Warwick

King Henry VIII Endowed Trust grants (Town of Warwick)

Discretionary grants from the Town's Share of the King Henry VIII Endowed Trust's income, for the benefit of people living in the Town of Warwick (broadly the CV34 postcode). Individuals, local organisations and the town's schools can apply, for purposes ranging from repairing historic buildings and relieving elderly, infirm and needy residents to social welfare, recreation, education and other charitable activity. There is no fixed limit on requests, but applications are usually about three times the funds available, and applicants are expected to have tried to raise money elsewhere first.

Who can apply

  • Individuals resident in the Town of Warwick, or officers of organisations within the Town applying for the benefit of the Town's inhabitants; separate forms exist for individuals, organisations and schools
  • The Town of Warwick is the old borough (the parishes of St Mary, St Nicholas, St Michael and St Paul) plus Warwick Gates; it is mostly the CV34 postcode district, but a few CV34 addresses on the Banbury Road and Coventry Road are outside it and some CV31/CV35 addresses (e.g. Myton Road, Medley Grove, Woodloes Farm) are inside it - the Grant Guidelines list them
  • For educational projects provided to the Town's state schools, the school must apply, not the provider; state schools apply annually for the June meeting, and counselling and care organisations apply to the March meeting
  • Applicants should show the full project cost, their own contribution and efforts to raise funds from other sources; clubs and schools must show financial stability and say what proportion of members or pupils are from Warwick
