Angus Council and Voluntary Action Angus
Whole Family Wellbeing Fund (Angus)
Scottish Government Whole Family Wellbeing funding distributed in Angus to projects that change how early, holistic support for families is delivered, shifting help from crisis to prevention. Small grants of up to £25,000 for grassroots third sector organisations are run by Voluntary Action Angus; larger grants of £25,000 to £50,000 (plus up to £20,000 one-off start-up costs) for Angus-wide projects and partnerships are run by Angus Council. The second tranche closes at 12 noon on 30 November 2026, and the fund ends on 31 March 2027.

What it funds
Operational and revenue costs, volunteer and one-off fixed-term staff costs, expenses and equipment for new projects that build transformational, whole-system change in holistic family support, aligned with these Angus priorities:
- Early intervention and early years support
- Whole family wellbeing and mental health
- Tackling child poverty and inequality
- Improving physical health outcomes
- Support for care-experienced children and families
- System transformation and service design
small grant examples include peer support programmes, family consultation and participation activities, and family strengthening activities.
large grant examples include community-based family hubs or drop-ins without formal referral, outreach in places families already use, targeted outreach to families less likely to approach services, 'reach in' approaches, and community capacity through volunteers, peer mentors, parent champions or community ambassadors.
the expectation is a focus on six priority family types: lone parent families, families with a disabled adult or child, larger families, minority ethnic families, families with a child under one, and families where the mother is under 25.
What it will not fund

- Business as usual, or replacing funding already in the system for supporting families
- Anything that is, or should be, funded by statutory services
- Where existing activity is scaled up, anything other than the scaled element
