Who can apply

  • Organisations in England where grassroots football is an integral part of what they offer (you don't have to be a football club)
  • Eligible: not-for-profit football clubs or voluntary groups; local authorities; County FAs; Professional Club Community Organisations; educational establishments providing facilities for the community; registered charities; not-for-profit companies; CICs or other social enterprises; companies limited by guarantee
  • Not eligible: individuals or sole traders, national governing bodies, commercial/for-profit entities, clubs in the Premier League, Football League, National League System (Steps 1–6), Women's Football Pyramid (Tiers 1–4) or Welsh Premier League, and educational establishments providing facilities solely for their students
  • For a football club, the applicant must be the club's Chair, Secretary or Treasurer (verified at account set-up)
  • Applicants must explain why the floodlights are needed and show the training area can cope with extra use; partners on an existing or proposed Football Foundation 3G pitch must evidence the need and may need to give written assurance that the investment won't harm the 3G site
  • Floodlights must be insured, stored securely at the applicant's named site, and operated only by suitably trained people over 18

  • Commercial / for-profit entities
  • Clubs in the Premier League, Football League, National League System (Step 1 to 6), Women's Football Pyramid (Tier 1 – 4) or the Welsh Premier League
