Beds & Herts Historic Churches Trust
Beds & Herts Historic Churches Trust Grants
Grants towards the restoration, repair and development of churches and chapels of all denominations in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and part of Barnet. The Trust was set up in 1991 and says it has given £4.2 million in grants to date; in 2025-26 it awarded £180,100 to 22 churches. It also acts as the distributing agent in Bedfordshire for church grants made by the Wixamtree Trust, so one approach can reach two funders. Applying is deliberately informal: an email to the Grants Secretary brings the forms.

- The Trust points to structural problems identified by a church architect or surveyor, work to provide more inclusive access or better facilities in the building, and rainwater dispersal to avoid damp
