The Casey Trust
The Casey Trust
Grants for projects working exclusively with children, run by registered UK charities, in the UK and overseas. Started in 1996, the Trust is increasingly looking for start-up projects or identifiable new initiatives within an existing project - work that might not have happened without it - rather than contributions to continuing programmes. Trustees are moving towards fewer but more substantial grants, including multi-year ones. There is no application form and no deadline: applications go by post only.

- Applications that do not adhere to the published criteria will not be considered
What it funds
- Projects concerned exclusively with children, with a cut-off age of 18, and wherever possible where the direct benefit to children can be easily observed
- Start-up projects or identifiable new initiatives within existing projects
- Multi-year projects, provided there is a clear breakdown of how funds will be spent over the period and an annual review of progress
- The Trust is currently particularly looking to support children's projects connected with the Arts, Mental Health, child Refugees in the UK, and - as it is Camden based - more inner-London projects
- Past grants have supported street children projects, child helplines, a mobile surgical theatre for children in rural Malawi, and a school for deaf children in Uganda
What it will not fund
- Applications from individuals
- Organisations that are not Registered British Charities or British charitable affiliates of foreign charities
- Core funding
- Parental or community support schemes
- Publications
- Medical research
- Construction
- Contributions to recurring events or continuing programmes, however worthy
- Anything not exclusively concerned with children and their welfare
- Applications sent by email - post only
How to apply
- Read the Mission Statement page and check your project meets every criterion - applications that do not will not be considered
- Write a brief outline, around two pages, of what you do and what the project is
- Include a clear budget and, if possible, a recent set of your accounts
- Post it - by post only, no emails - to The Trustees, The Casey Trust, 27 Arkwright Road, London NW3 6BJ
