Who can apply

  • Voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, charities, community groups, volunteer groups, social enterprises and parish and town councils running projects in South Gloucestershire
  • The organisation must be registered and approved on the council's online community grants system, which requires charitable aims or not-for-profit status (registered charity status is not needed), a governing document, equality and diversity and safeguarding policies, recent accounts, three named contacts and an organisational bank account with at least two signatories
  • Schools, academies and PTAs are excluded unless operationally independent of the school
  • Organisations funded by this grant in the previous 12 months cannot reapply

What it funds

Projects and events supporting the resettlement and integration of one or more cohorts of refugees and/or asylum seekers in South Gloucestershire (the service works with Ukrainian, Afghan, North African and Hong Kong communities and asylum seekers from many backgrounds): integration activities, social and cultural events, well-being initiatives, training sessions, and group developmental activities or events.

  • Priority goes to projects offering additional support in community development, cultural and local awareness, peer support and befriending
  • Projects proactively targeting integration
  • Those considering the specific needs of children, older people and women within resettling cohorts
  • Those addressing inequalities and with positive climate implications
  • Fully costed proposals

Projects must align with the Council Plan 2024-2028, and applicants are expected to work with the council's community hub network (Kingswood, Yate, Thornbury, Patchway).

Staffing costs can be funded in a project's first year only.

Payment is made in advance of delivery.
