What it funds

Anything needed to get a new not-for-profit community idea off the ground in Broadland, such as:

  • Equipment purchase/hire
  • Venue hire
  • Promotional materials
  • Transport
  • Ideas should:
  • Encourage residents to come together in positive and supportive ways
  • Inspire people to get active, participate and fulfil their potential
  • Promote health and well-being in the community
  • Provide innovative activities that respond to local needs

Applicants must show the need for the idea and a clear, accurately costed plan for spending the money.

Recent awards (2025-26) include start-up costs for yoga, wellness, craft, lunch club and cricket coaching groups.

What it will not fund

  • Retrospective funding (activities that have already happened)
  • Activities that duplicate what is already provided or commissioned by the council, unless demand cannot be met
  • Social excursions outside Norfolk
  • Paid staff costs
  • Any overseas activity
  • Activities restricted solely to a group's existing membership
  • Political or religious activities
  • Organisational or running costs not directly related to the specific project activities
