Stobart

Stobart Sustainability Fund

A corporate fund from the logistics company Stobart supporting community-led green projects around its UK sites. It backs not-for-profit organisations, community groups, schools and colleges with initiatives that tackle climate change, cut carbon emissions, or protect and enhance the environment. There is no published application form, criteria document, deadline or grant range — the route is Stobart's general contact form. The one award Stobart has publicised was £250, to a voluntary sewing and clothing-repair group in Pontlottyn.

Who can apply

  • Stobart's page says anyone can apply, provided the project is of a green, ecological or sustainability nature and benefits the environment
  • Its own announcement is narrower and more useful: the fund provides support to not-for-profit organisations, community groups, schools and colleges across the UK, and the company describes it as supporting community-led projects and initiatives around all its UK sites
  • The corporate social responsibility page adds small businesses to that list
  • No constitution, accounts, income limit or track record requirement is published

What it funds

  • Direct funding for specific localised projects that tackle climate change, reduce carbon emissions, or protect and enhance the environment
  • Stobart's own wording is that applications need to be of a green, ecological or sustainability nature with the project benefiting the environment
  • The publicised award covered ten weeks of running costs for a voluntary group teaching sewing and clothing repair to reduce textile waste

What it will not fund

  • Projects that are not of a green, ecological or sustainability nature
  • Projects that do not benefit the environment

Stobart publishes no exclusion list, so this is only what the fund's own description implies
