The Victoria Wood Foundation

The Victoria Wood Foundation Grants

Grants of generally no more than GBP 5,000 to registered charities, directed mainly towards the arts in the most general sense. Set up after Victoria Wood's death in 2016 and formerly the Victoria Wood Charitable Trust, it is particularly keen on causes that would have interested her and on applications from the parts of the country where she lived. The trustees favour smaller charities where a modest donation can make a big difference, and meet twice a year, in July and December.

What it will not fund

  • Individuals
  • Courses of study
  • Expeditions or travel abroad
  • General appeals
  • Youth and community associations, in general
  • Retrospective funding
  • Statutory bodies, including education and health
  • Places of worship, or organisations which promote religion
  • Animal, wildlife, heritage and environmental causes
  • Theatrical productions

the trustees word this list as what they are 'unlikely' to consider rather than an absolute bar, but they also state that only applications from registered charities will be considered at all

How to apply

  2. Get in touch with the Administrator, Catherine Edis, preferably using the form on the Foundation's Contact page
  3. Alternatively email her with brief details in the first instance
  4. The Administrator will then take you through the application process

there is no published application form or portal — the first step is a conversation, not a submission
