The Jones 1986 Charitable Trust
The Jones 1986 Charitable Trust Grants
A Nottingham grant-making trust funding socially and medically disadvantaged groups, primarily in Nottinghamshire. Applications are accepted only from charities and CICs, and only online. Who can apply
- Applicants must be either charities or CICs — the trust states this plainly and makes no grants to individuals
- The organisation must be based, or specifically working, in England
- The trustees prefer to fund charitable organisations in, or working for the people of, Nottingham or Nottinghamshire, though applications from charities immediately outside this area may be considered at their discretion
- The trust asks for the last two years' accounts if available
- Grant applicants must agree to the trust's terms and conditions, and the amount distributed in any one year is at the trustees' discretion and depends on income generated from investments
What it funds
Charitable projects and activities in or benefiting the people of Nottinghamshire, within the trustees' historic practice:
- Community healthcare services including home care, aftercare, support for sufferers of long-term medical conditions and continuing care of disabled people
- Health education and prevention, promoting knowledge and awareness of specific diseases or medical conditions
- Lifelong learning helping people of any age achieve their educational potential, through supplementary schools, literacy and numeracy projects, community education, vocational and restart education for the unemployed, and alternative education for excluded pupils
- Community development helping groups organise and respond to needs in their communities
- Personal social services assisting individuals or families to overcome social deprivation, such as people who are homeless or disabled and their carers, single-parent and childcare groups and other family support groups
- Social preventive schemes covering crime prevention, preventing young people dropping out, social care outreach and social health and safety awareness
What it will not fund
- Grants to individuals — the trust will not consider any new application for donations from individuals
- Organisations that are not based, or not specifically working, in England
- Activities that are the responsibility of the local health authority, education authority or a similar body
the trustees prefer to make grants to charitable organisations in or for the people of Nottingham or Nottinghamshire; applications from charities immediately outside this area may be considered at the trustees' discretion

- Complete the online application form linked from that page — the trust accepts online applications only
