The Homity Trust
Homity Trust small grants
Small grants of up to £1,000 from a Brighton-based trust for registered charities, constituted community groups and other constituted not-for-profit organisations based and working in Sussex. Applications must show a breakdown of the amount requested and evidence of benefit to end users who are in financial difficulty. The trust favours smaller local causes where a small grant makes a big difference. Trustees meet in January, and the deadline is 10 December 2026, although the round may close early if it is oversubscribed.

What it funds
- General funding of up to £1,000 for a specific cause or current need of a local group, where the grant will benefit end users who are in financial difficulty
- The trust has no fixed agenda but supports groups that improve quality of life and social inclusion or respond to current crises such as the cost of living
- Past grants include a community garden, food support for refugees and asylum seekers, a community centre hub, dental care for homeless people, social outings to tackle loneliness and a women's drop-in
- The trustees may part-fund applications
What it will not fund

How to apply
- Read the application notes on the Applying For A Grant page
- Optionally make an initial enquiry through the contact page (enquiries@homity.co.uk) if unsure about eligibility
- Complete the online application form on that page by 10 December 2026. Give details of the organisation and its area of operation, the amount requested (max £1,000) with a breakdown, and the evidence of benefit to end users in financial difficulty
- Wait for confirmation of receipt; the Trustees and Grants Committee consider applications at the January meeting
- If successful, sign the grant paperwork confirming how the grant will be used and commit to reporting on it
Apply well before the deadline, because the trust is usually oversubscribed and the Trustees may close the round early.
Postal and email applications are not accepted; only the online form.
