Human Trafficking Foundation
Emergency Support Fund
Small one-off grants of up to £200 for survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery, to meet immediate needs when no other funding is available. Survivors cannot apply themselves: a support worker or supporting organisation in the UK applies on their behalf, and the money is paid to that organisation to buy the item. Needs that the Salvation Army's Survivor Support Fund can meet are not covered except in exceptional circumstances.

Who can apply
- Survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery, through a support worker or a UK organisation providing them with support or advice, which applies on their behalf and receives the grant into its bank account to make the purchase
- If the survivor is receiving support under the NRM (National Referral Mechanism) Care Contract, an application must first be made to The Salvation Army's Survivor Support Fund
- The application must show what effort has been made to secure funding from other sources
What it funds
Small one-off grants to meet survivors' immediate needs when no other sources of funding are available
What it will not fund
- Grants of more than £200
- Grants made directly to survivors
- Costs that can be met by The Salvation Army's Survivor Support Fund (other than in exceptional circumstances)
- Organisations outside of the UK
- Legal fees
- Immigration application fees
- Non-essential items
How to apply
- If the survivor is supported under the NRM Care Contract, apply first to The Salvation Army's Survivor Support Fund
- The support worker or supporting organisation completes the online application form, giving as much detail as possible while keeping the survivor anonymous, and setting out what efforts have been made to find funding elsewhere
- If granted, the money is transferred to the support organisation's bank account, and the organisation pays for the requested item(s)
