2026-27 CLLD Small Business Fund

A pilot grant of up to £5,000 from the Outer Hebrides Community Led Local Development Local Action Group, with Scottish Government funding, for small island businesses with fewer than 10 employees whose core business or a specific activity contributes to the LAG's aims and priorities. It is mainly for revenue costs, with a small capital element. Preference goes to businesses run by or particularly benefiting young people aged 30 and under. Applicants put in at least 10% from their own funds, and all activity must be completed and claimed by 18 February 2027.

Who can apply

  • Businesses and sole traders registered in the Outer Hebrides, including community organisations with trading arms, that have fewer than 10 employees
  • Preference is given to businesses operated by, or particularly benefiting, young people (up to and including age 30)
  • Applicants must contribute at least 10% of the overall costs from their own funds
  • One application per business
  • All funded activity must be completed and all grant funds claimed by Thursday 18 February 2027

What it funds

  • Predominantly revenue expenditure, although a small capital element is available

through their core business or a specific activity, businesses must contribute to the LAG's stated aims and priorities; applicants are strongly encouraged to show community support and/or an identified community need, a collaborative and inclusive approach, and an immediate, demonstrable impact supporting their business plan and sustainable development.
