  • Turnover up to £10,000 a year for a small grant, or up to £300,000 for a medium grant
  • One grant per organisation in this round; unsuccessful applicants may reapply once in the same financial year

What it funds

New and existing projects benefiting the health and wellbeing of Salford residents that address one or more of these priorities:

  • Start Well: children and young people have the best start in life and access to opportunities to help them achieve their potential
  • Live Well: adults are happy, healthy and able to lead productive and fulfilling lives
  • Age Well: older people are connected in their communities and actively involved in managing their own health and wellbeing
  • Strong and Resilient Communities: people feel welcome and safe in Salford, and are active in their communities and able to participate in volunteering

Costs can include venue hire, equipment and materials, sessional workers, facilitators and staff, volunteer expenses, refreshments, promotion, public liability insurance and a proportionate contribution to overheads. Example activities: sports and physical activity, arts and crafts, social and peer support groups, targeted health interventions, and green and growing projects. Food projects are considered only with wider activity, such as cooking classes.

What it will not fund

  • Meals, trips or one-off events, unless there is a clear and compelling need and benefit for the community
  • Alcohol
  • Retrospective costs
  • Work that statutory bodies such as schools or local authorities have a duty to fund
  • Projects or activities outside Salford, unless a clear and convincing rationale is given
  • Projects that only buy and distribute food, with no wider activity
  • More than one grant per organisation in this funding period
