East of England Co-op, through Norfolk Community Foundation

East of England Co-op Community Cares Fund

Grants of £1,000 to £5,000 from East of England Co-op, run by Norfolk Community Foundation, for Norfolk groups within 5km of an East of England Co-op food, travel or funeral store. This round's theme is community cohesion and integration: projects that help people take an active part in their community and reduce barriers, isolation and inequality. The Co-op must be funding at least 30% of the project. Only five or six groups are likely to be funded, and decisions are made by a panel of Co-op staff in February 2027.

Who can apply

  • Charities, faith organisations, parish and town councils, social enterprises and CICs, and voluntary and community groups in Norfolk that are based within 5 kilometres of an East of England Co-op store (food, travel or funeral); check with the Co-op's store locator, choosing 'All branches'
  • Not eligible if you have had a grant from this fund since January 2025 or have outstanding reporting on a previous East of England Co-op grant

What it funds

Creating or developing services or activities that address local needs, under the theme 'Community Cohesion and Integration', helping people play an active part in their local community to reduce barriers and inequalities and improve social contact and experiences, and addressing one or more of these key areas:

  • Improved access to social activities for all
  • Reduction in feelings of isolation and improved wellbeing
  • Supported people into education or employment
  • Provided information, advice or guidance to maximise income
  • Evidence of partnership working or alliance formation

From past rounds: capital projects have been a lower priority where day-to-day services did not depend on them; food-related projects have usually been supported only alongside wider community activity; one-off equipment and short-term projects are not prioritised.

What it will not fund

  • Projects where the grant would be less than 30% of the total project cost
  • Groups that have received a grant from this fund since January 2025
  • Groups with outstanding reporting for a previous East of England Co-op grant
  • Groups based more than 5km from an East of England Co-op store

How to apply

  1. Check you are within 5km of an East of England Co-op store using the store locator (select 'All branches')
  2. Apply through Norfolk Community Foundation's online application form
  3. Submit by 12 noon on 23 November 2026
