Herefordshire Good Causes Grant

Grants to organisations improving the lives of people in hardship, need or distress across Herefordshire. The Trust's primary objective is relief of former employees of H P Bulmer Holdings and their dependants; organisational grants are made from what remains once that is met, so funds are limited and the Trust asks applicants to speak to it before applying. Three application deadlines a year: 1 April, 1 August and 1 December.

Who can apply

  • Registered charities, CICs and social enterprises
  • Schools and NHS bodies may apply where the project meets the Trust's objectives and is not a statutory service
  • National charities and their local branches can apply but must evidence benefit to Herefordshire residents
  • Because demand is high and funds limited, the Trust asks applicants to speak to it before applying

What it funds

  • Work improving the lives of people in hardship, need or distress in Herefordshire
  • Applicants must show the project directly benefits people resident in the county

What it will not fund

  • Work already completed — the Trust does not fund retrospectively
  • Projects for private individuals, other than former H P Bulmer employees or an eligible organisation applying on their behalf
  • Trips or projects abroad
  • Political activity or awareness-raising work
  • Statutory services that a local authority or school is required to provide
  • Projects that do not directly benefit people resident in Herefordshire

  • Hard copies should not be posted
  • Applications are due by 1 April, 1 August or 1 December
