Everybody Foundation (charity of Everybody Health & Leisure)

Everybody Foundation Grants

Small grants from the Everybody Foundation, the charity linked to Cheshire East's leisure trust Everybody Health & Leisure, to remove cost barriers to sport and physical activity for young people. Local sporting clubs and community organisations in Cheshire East can apply for Club & Organisation Grants of up to £500 (e.g. to create or top up a hardship fund, replace essential equipment, keep activities running safely) or apply on behalf of a young person for up to £250. Beneficiaries must be under 18, or under 25 with SEND. A separate annual Impact Grant of up to £5,000 for one not-for-profit health and wellbeing project closed on 1 September 2026.

Who can apply

  • Local sporting organisations: either applying on behalf of a young person who lives in Cheshire East, or a club/organisation based in Cheshire East applying for hardship funding or its own short-term needs
  • Beneficiaries must be under 18, or under 25 with SEND
  • The grant-making policy requires organisations to be a sporting, voluntary or community organisation, registered charity or other not-for-profit with a management committee, governing document, bank account and appropriate safeguarding (DBS where appropriate) and equalities policies
  • Priority goes to organisations contributing their own funds and to new applicants; one successful application per financial year
  • Work on land/buildings needs freehold or a lease of 5+ years and any planning permission in place

What it funds

  • Club & Organisation Grants (up to £500): hardship funds for young people, essential or replacement equipment, and costs that keep activities running, safe and accessible
  • Individual Support Grants (up to £250, applied for by the club): kit, clothing, equipment, club subscriptions and travel to training or competitions for a young person facing financial barriers
  • More generally the foundation can support memberships, coaching or specialist training fees, community activity programmes, non-sporting equipment that supports wellbeing and small facility improvements
  • Grants must benefit young people under 18, or under 25 with special educational needs or a disability

What it will not fund

  • Direct applications from parents or guardians (the club must apply)
  • Activities of a mainly political or religious nature
  • Work or purchases made before the grant is awarded
  • Land purchase
  • Vehicle purchase
  • Salaries
  • Items purchased on behalf of another group
  • Events that do not benefit the local community
  • Organisations holding substantial free reserves

How to apply

  1. Check the eligibility and funding routes on the Foundation Grants page
  2. Complete the online Everybody Foundation Grant Application form (Microsoft Form) for the Club & Organisation or Individual Support route: young person and organisation details, sport, what the grant is for, needs addressed, amount requested and where any balance comes from
  3. Trustees review and score applications quarterly
  4. Decision shared electronically (the page aims for within one week of the trustees meeting; the FAQ says within six weeks of the closing date)
  5. If successful, provide proof of purchase or a short update

Parents/guardians cannot apply directly; ask the child's club or coach.

The separate Impact Grant (up to £5,000, one award a year, open 1 July to 1 September) closed for 2026; applications go by emailing the response document using the Impact Grant guidance booklet.
