Who can apply

  • Permanent residents of Bracknell Forest whose property is their permanent home, who own or rent it (owners sign an owner's certificate; tenants sign a tenant's certificate giving the landlord's details)
  • There is no formal means test
  • The application must be backed by supporting information from a professional, usually the person's occupational therapist; if it comes from another professional, the council's Disabled Facilities Grant Team will consult an occupational therapist
  • The eligibility criteria are in the council's Housing Assistance Policy 2021 to 2026

What it funds

Essential, urgent works and adaptations (minor adaptations and other works) that help to:

  • Prevent admission to hospital
  • Prevent admission to a care or nursing home
  • Assist with speedy discharge from hospital

What it will not fund

  • Works that do not support preventing an admission or speeding a discharge

  3. Complete the online application form; it goes to the Disabled Facilities Grant Team
  4. Funding is awarded case by case at the discretion of the council's senior management

Applications cannot be processed without proof of identity, proof of address and the owner's or tenant's certificate.
