Who can apply

  • Third-party organisations in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly that support people on no or low incomes, including but not limited to registered charities and voluntary organisations, food banks and care organisations
  • They distribute funds at their discretion to people most at risk and suffering a financial shock, normally people who already use the organisation's service and are known to it
  • Applicants must meet CCF's general eligibility criteria: a not-for-profit organisation with charitable activities (registration not required), at least three unrelated committee members, recent accounts, a bank account in the organisation's name and a safeguarding policy with a named lead
  • Statutory bodies (including schools, parish and town councils), commercial organisations, grant-making bodies and organisations with significant free reserves or an overdue CCF monitoring report are not eligible

What it funds

Support for people facing a financial shock, such as unexpected loss of income, an accident or health emergency, household relationship breakdown, breakdown of essential items, or disaster, through:

  • Household costs, including rent, bills and utilities
  • Food
  • Essential transport
  • Essential household appliances and furniture
  • Priority debt
  • Wider essential

Support can be given as cash, vouchers or in kind. Each household should receive no more than £350 from the Crisis Fund in a calendar year.

What it will not fund

  • Use as an ongoing source of household income

For individuals with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), contact CCF for guidance.

How to apply

  1. Check your organisation against CCF's general eligibility criteria and the fund's criteria
  2. Prepare an estimated breakdown of how the money will be used: households by type (children, pensioners, disabled people, other), type of crisis, support method (cash, voucher, in-kind) and crisis need
  3. Complete the online application via the 'Apply now' button on the grant page before 1 January 2027
  4. CCF aims to give a decision within 4-6 weeks
  5. After spending, submit a full actual breakdown (type of crisis, employment status, benefit status, support provided)

Organisations that report satisfactorily may request a top-up grant before the deadline, but funding is limited and top-ups cannot be guaranteed before April 2027.
